Daily Report 05/03/2019

         بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

        Hello guys, welcome back to the my blog to explore all the activities I did today. I've heard the saying "if you don't know it then you can't like it" or in Indonesian "tak kenal maka tak sayang". In the beginning I thought that this proverb was used only between fellow humans. Apparently it's a lie, because the proverb can be used too in cooking. Mr. Ical once said "recognize your ingredients, love your work, from love you could know how to use the ingredients". That's where I know that, in making products, cooking something, or something like that you have to use feelings, don't be careless, because from that you are can create a new taste that has never exist before. That was a living pearl of wisdom that I can conclude after doing activities in the kitchen. Therefore I feel grateful to Allah SWT and our mentors who always guide us. Ok, let's get into our main topic.

        Always ringing in my head that in making breakfast you have to come early because breakfast preparation takes quite a long time, whereas the processes to take out the food are quite difficult and we have also limited time. Therefore if we arrive late the time will run out before all the food are ready. In dealing with this, seniors and lecturers tell us to arrive early at the kitchen, which is 05:30am, if we practice to cook breakfast.

        For some people, coming early to work, especially for students who from elementary to high school get used to come a bit late, is a difficult thing. But here in Poltekpar's kitchen, the students must be prepared both mentally and spiritually to face it. Because at Poltekpar, after you graduate you will enter the rigors of the world of work where "who is slow will experience destruction". Therefore if it doesn't start from this moment WHEN AGAIN ?????

        Okay, let's go back again. After we agreed that in making breakfast preparations, we must already be in the kitchen at 6:00 but for the class leader myself, I have to go before 6:00 because I have to check all the conditions in the kitchen starting to open the kitchen door, to check cooler and freezer temperature, to open the window, and to pay attention to the cleanliness of the kitchen etc. And for today, my duty is also to bring out the dessert for today's breakfast. After entering the bakery we were all busy doing our own work. There are those who cooked breakfast, dessert, and there were also those who prepared for breakfast tomorrow. Today's dessert is the yellow butter cake which must be topped with cream and plated as beautiful as possible. We also divided the assignments, some wrote how many food went out to the restaurant, there were those who made chicken salad hawaian, cooked the beef stew, shrimp bisque, baked potatoes, and also prepared the ingredients for tomorrow.

        As everything was under control, I, who was in group 4, am ready to prepare for Wednesday and we got assignment to make breakfast and also the appetizer. The menu for breakfast tomorrow is toast bread and English muffin. I should make the toast bread, my friend should make the English muffin, and my other teammates should make the appetizer, which is made from vegetable mayonnaise. We started to do each tasks. After the breakfast for tomorrow was ready, I saw the clock and the time showed at 11:45 which means we must pray Dhuhur. Even though the preparation of group 4 has been completed, it turns out there were still other groups who have failed to carry out their duties so they have to repeat it again and it will be done after praying Dhuhur.

        After praying Dhuhur, we took a break before standing in one line. It makes easier for the seniors to divide thee group for general cleaning later. But before doing the general cleaning we ate meal together to fill up the energy that had been wasted during the practice from morning until the afternoon. The food we ate during lunch was the result of our practice and the 4th semester practice. We are satisfied because what we eat is the result of our hard work. After lunch, we began to do general cleaning according to the assignments that had been divided. Because there are still groups who should repeat their practice, we finished a bit later. But for me it doesn't matter for the sake of the advancement of friends and other groups, it's the way to respects another friends and also as a stepping stones for the future. We finished at 16.35. Then we stood in one line and prayed to be given safety on the way home.
